To learn about the climatic situation in your own country and compare it to other countries first of all you have to develop your personal climate profile.

  1. Begin by reading the short text in the infocenter about CO2 emissons from the article How Do We Contribute Individually to Global Warming.
  2. Then answer the questions below directly in your personal profile.

In this context we have chosen only to work with your direct emissions, since the indirect emissions are much more complicated.


How to Edit your profile

Questions:

Your home
  • How big is your home? (number of rooms/square meters)
  • How many people are living in your home?
  • What kind of building is it? (house, appartment etc.)
  • How is it heated/cooled? (oil, gaz, coal, electricity, wood etc.)
  • How many electrical light bulps do you have?
  • How many of them are low energy bulps?
  • Make a complete list of electrical appliances in your home. (I.e. 2 televisions, 1 fridge, 3 telephones etc.)
  • If the heat/electricity comes from a source outside your home, what kind of source is it? (power plant, windmills, solarenergy, waterenergy etc.)

Your Transportation

  • How do your parents get to work and what is the distance?
  • How do you get to school and what is the distance?
  • If you go on holiday, where do you go and what kind of tranportation do you use?

Your CO2 emission
Look at your home and transportation. Compared to other comfu members do you think your living conditions and level of consumption cause CO2 emission
