We have chosen the opera house in Copenhagen because the architecture is really nice an beautiful, we are proud of it and it's something we want to preserve.
It also meets the requirements is to get on the UNESCO world heritage list. We will say that it represents a masterpiece of human creative genius as the architect Henning Larsen has been innovative and ingenious with his architectural ideas.
It shows innovation in architecture and monumental art. In future it will act as a style from the 21 century.
All could see that it is special and beautiful in its modern architecture, and thus has universal significance.It cost approx. DKK 2.5 billion to build the opera, which is around 333 million euros, so that really a lot of money ! The opera has two scenes: The 'big Stage' is the opera's main stage with seating for between 1,444 to 1,655 spectators, and up to 110 musicians. 'Takkelloftet' is the Operas 'experimental scene, with seating for 200 spectators. The stage floor in the main stage and the five associated rear and side stages are modular wheel (stage carriages), which mechanically moves from one scene to another. It means that you can easily switch between fully completed set kulissesæt and it is thus possible every day to switch between various opera and ballet performances.
It was funand it was nice to see the opera together with your friends. We also think it was really beautiful and it did more than meet our expectations. So we really think the Danish opera in Copenhagen should be on the world heritage list J
