When I hear the words climate change and global warming I feel pressure and guilt. I realize that lifestyle has a direct impact on these issues and that my lifestyle (the western-industrial-developed lifestyle) is an unsustainable model. My response to this realization is to actively work towards reduction in my activities that contribute to the processess of global warming. This is a huge challenge. It is not easy to give up the luxurious ammenities of what has become known as the "good" life. However, if we take immediate action to create healthy energy alternatives that move us away from fossil fuel consumption, then we will have done something beneficial. This is my goal.

A Universal Excuse?
Oct 31, 2009
Hunting for the actionClimate change, fundamentally a globalized issue one cannot ignore. The secretary general of the United Nations himself has been quoted saying –"It is the major, overriding environmental issue of our time and the single greatest challenge facing environmental regulators." Shifting weather patterns have been witnessed and these have poised a threat to food production. The rising sea-level have contaminated the coastal freshwater resources and the warming atmosphere have been beneficial for pests and diseases at a time centered to the tropics, to conquer pole-ward located nations. |
